HS2
And the next station on this train will be imaginary.
HS2, a grand project in all but name
But in truth, it's nowt but a wasteful game.
A high-speed train link, they promised us all
But the cost to nature, it isn’t going to be small
They said it'll connect cities with speed,
But the destruction it brings, we must heed.
Ancient woodlands and habitats lost,
For a train that'll speed at a hefty cost.
Billions poured into this concrete dream,
While our schools and hospitals silently scream.
Is this the progress that we truly need,
Or just a vanity project, fueled by greed?
Oh, HS2, you're a divisive sight,
Pitting communities in a needless fight.
The countryside scarred, and wildlife displaced,
All for a train that's a political embrace.
