this murky world of politics
a steaming cesspool it’s bollocks, it’s
a gravy train, a merry-go-round
of shameful characters most profound
elected by those who truly believe 
that hyped up policies will really succeed
you scratch my back I’ll stab you in yours
as pound notes and handshakes often secures
a word in the ear of the gravy train rider,
a charlatan or a sharp suited  shyster.
Surrounded by yes men and arselicking types,
who polish the turds and build up the hype
issuing statements and titbits of news
whose sole intention is just to confuse
and create the division that they require
to hide the true depth of this political mire.
